INTERVIEW ADVICE

One of the most common mistakes made during the application process is carrying out insufficient research on prospective employers; the best place to research a company is their website. No matter how well-qualified you are for a job, your personality and presentation will count enormously at interview. Know who you are meeting, location and how to get there. Bring your contact details, spare CV, a pen and a notepad; carry passport size photograph; photo identification i.e. photocopy of Aadhar Card or Passport and salary proof.

Study the job description; craft your CV accordingly so you can provide evidence that you meet the criteria. Wear a smart but comfortable suit. Remember that you’re making an impression as soon as you walk through the door. Be courteous to everyone, from the Security to the Office Boy to the Receptionist to the MD.

Pitching Right Salary

When asked about your salary expectations; if there is scope for an exceptional hike; put it across with logical justification rather than underpricing or overpricing yourself; ask the interviewer what they would look to offer someone with your skill set and experience or simply ask for a reasonable hike as per industry standards on your current salary. Provide on paper appraisal confirmation if any by current employer.

Conclusion

If you want the job, tell the interviewer that you do. At the end, thank your interviewer with smile for his or her time and shake hands.
